WHY THE COUNTRY SINKS DEEPER INTO CORRUPTION?

EVERY new president that sits in Malacañang appoints a department head and bureau chiefs, who are indebted one way or the other to a religious group, a political party or incumbent politician, or a campaign supporter or donor.

As such, a new layer is added into the bureaucracy each time a new bureau head is appointed by the incoming department secretary with the old appointees clinging hard to their post—never mind if they are placed on floating status or in the freezer.

WHITE ELEPHANT NO MORE?

IT is a confirmed fact that our country has one of the highest electricity rates in Asia which explains why we remain as one of the poorest economies in the world.

While giant power firms such as Meralco and others feast with their billions of pesos in earnings through their highly scandalous power rates, the country and the people continue to wallow in poverty.

Clearly, something must be done to solve this unpleasant situation if only to rescue our people from continued poverty and deprivation brought by these opportunistic conglomerates.

DIGONG MUST FOLLOW LEE KUAN YEW NOT MARCOS!

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte must be amused by the negative reactions to his   dismissal of Vice President Leni Robredo from his cabinet.

In the first place, he was not eager to invite the vice president to join his administration. It was when they first met and he got captivated by Leni’s  charms that  he offered her a cabinet position.

What really happened is that many LP leaders wanted to join the Duterte administration even before Digong took his oath.

They were among those who went on a pilgrimage to Davao City to pay homage to the new…

UNDESIRABLE ALIENS?

THAT foreigners openly violate our laws is a sad statement of widespread corruption in the previous administration, especially inside the Bureau of Immigration (BI) and the Clark Development Corporation (CDC).

That these two government agencies have long been confirmed as breeding grounds for corruption are best shown by the recent arrests of more than 1,316 Chinese nationals working in an illegal online gambling operations at Fontana Leisure Park inside the Clark Freeport in Pampanga.

The subsequent developments that unfolded after the Chinese nationals’ arrests were mirrors of how corruption has already been deeply ingrained in the country’s political and…

DUTERTE CAUTIONED ON REVIVING BNPP

AFTER initially flip-flopping on his stand on what to do about the mothballed Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP), President Duterte has announced that he might agree to revive the power plant if only to address the problems of dwindling power supply and high electricity rates in the country.

But some experts are cautioning him to think a thousand times over before proceeding with the plan citing various reasons among them safety and practicality.

For one, those that have trained so hard to run it (engineers and technical people) have left and are now occupying lucrative positions elsewhere in the globe…
