DBM to cooperate with COA probe of Malampaya Fund

Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno said he is willing to cooperate and provide all the necessary evidence, SARO releases and other documents to the Commission on Audit as it probes the Malampaya Fund.


“The DBM is not a prosecutorial body. We have other agencies for that, but we are willing to participate,” Secretary Diokno said when asked what the budget department’s involvement would be in the investigation of the Malampaya Fund. “We are willing to provide necessary evidence, SARO releases, etc. We will cooperate fully on whatever the direction of the government on this matter,”…

More funds for Marawi rehab

To hasten the rehabilitation and recovery of Marawi City, which just recently was liberated from terrorist control, Malacanang has approved the proposal to augment the rehabilitation funds of Marawi by P14.58 billion, coming from the 2016 and 2017 savings of the Department of Public Works and Highways.


At the same time the Palace approved the reorganization of Task Force Bangon Marawi last October 30.

Miles away from Manila, the Filipino spirit of bayanihan and unity was very much alive  and palpably felt when Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Doha, Qatar gave actress Isabel Granada their final sendoff on Wednesday at the Hamad International Airport at 8 pm (12 midnight in Manila).

Most of them were in convoy from the Al Wakra Hospital and Mortuary where the body of the actress was done to the airport for her final journey.
