1 person dies for every 17 hours in MM due to road accidents

By Mico Agustin

In Metro Manila, one person dies for every 17 hours due to road accidents.

Road safety advocates have been appealing to government to raise road safety awareness to prevent such fatal mishaps from happening, with such frequency and impact.

Ejercito said the PSA data also showed that the number of deaths due to road accidents has been increasing since 2006. “We have a worrying…

PWDs ask to be included in road safety talks

People with disabilities are asking government to include them in the crafting of road safety measures as they are the ones greatly affected by these.

Lalaine Guanzon, area manager and consultant of Wheelchair Friendly Solutions Inc. (WFSI), a group of differently-abled people, made the appeal in view of the reality that groups like theirs are hardly, if at all, consulted about new measures being drawn up on road safety.

Koko: Bonifacio championed improved quality of life for Filipinos

Joining the remembrance for Andres Bonifacio’s 154th birthday, Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III on Thursday said that what made Bonifacio great was he wanted to improve the quality of life of Filipinos and dedicated his life to it.

“Bonifacio’s life story resonates among Filipinos – he stopped school at an early age to support his siblings through his labor. He wanted a better life for his family. He became great because he went beyond his family and also worked for an improved quality of…

NO SURRENDER

HE IS truly the people’s champion.

Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao is learning that being a public servant is not as easy as it seems to be.

Surrender not an option

And just like when he is inside a boxing ring, he knew that he is not fighting just for himself but for the entire nation.…

By Boy Villasanta

Jun Inocencio, an on-and-off actor and former make-up artist of TV5 Sports, is a bit luckier than other HIV sufferers. He has donors coming to aid him financially for medications and for his living. Trickles though the aid comes, but still they come.

Inocencio has been diagnosed with HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) last year and his ex-bosses and colleagues in the sports world and show business have been generous in lending him a helping hand.

Heading the list is basketball coach Norman Black, who when news broke out about Inocencio’s condition, quickly doled out bucks to augment…
