Rep. Carlos Roman Uybarreta of 1stConsumer Alliance for Rural Energy (1-CARE) partylist said he hopes that Congress would pass before its adjournment in May the Anti Power Line Disturbnce Act before the storms come in July.

Phl can do more in attracting foreign investors

While lauding the economic team of President Duterte in attracting $10 billion in foreign direct investments in 2017, Rep. Ciriaco Calalang, Kabayan partylist, said the country can do more and follow the steps taken by neighbors Vietnam and Indonesia.


May this historic achievement spur all the economic agencies to triple their efforts, Calalang, a tax expert said.

Govt. told to take better care of OFWS

For their 2017 contributions of $28 billion in remittances and $10 billion in foreign direct investments, government agencies were asked to take better care of the overseas Filipino workers by attending to their needs here and in their host countries.


This prescription was put forth by Rep. Ron Salo, Kabayan partylist and Assistant Majority leader, as he stressed that this is “not an either-or proposition. Take care of both OFWs and foreign investors but do a much better job with our OFWs.”

The musical anthem of the Philippines’ economic progress entitled “Tunog ng Progreso” bagged the silver in the prestigious Kidlat Awards, which was commissioned by the National Economic and Development Authority to creatives agency Dentsu Jayme Syfu.


Together with the team, audio production house Loudbox Studios Inc. also won a Silver Award under film category for Best Audio Craft.
