CONSISTENT with the initiatives of President Rodrigo Duterte to help small and medium entrepreneurs throughout the country, the national government has allotted P1 billion for next year to provide micro enterprises an alternative source of financing that is easy to access and at a reasonable interest.
The funding will be released through the Small Business Corporation (SB Corp.), the micro-financing arm of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Newly-licensed nurses told to serve their communities first

Before even embarking for jobs abroad, the fresh batch of licensed nurses were asked to first serve their local communities (places of residence or birthplace) as the country also is in dire need of nurses.

NEDA confident of meeting growth target of 6.5-7.5 percent

Because of the 6.7 percent growth in the first three quarters of 2017 brought about by a robust domestic consumption and government spending and a recovery in external demand, the National Economic and Development Authority is confident that the country would meet its full-year growth target of 6.5 to 7.5 percent.

Swiss-based firm sees Duterte’s infra program lifting growth in 2018

Switzerland-based UBS, a global financial provider of business solution and advise, predicts the growth of the Philippine economy being lifted in 2018 by the Duterte administration’s mammoth BuildBuildBuild program.

China to donate solar lights to Antique province, El Nido town in Palawan


China is donating close to 3,000 units of solar-powered LED street light and home solar power system to help communities in the province of Antique and the municipality of El Nido in Palawan province combat climate change.
