Deped told to let Landbank handle teachers’ salary loan deductions

To ease the burden of deducting the loans obtained by teachers from private lenders in their salaries, the Land Bank of the Philippines is proposed to do this service, being the depository bank of the state.


The proposal was raised by Rep. Salvador Belaro Jr., 1Ang Edukasyon partylist and assistant majority leader, so that the staff of DepEd can do their main function and core competencies.

NEDA urges proactive measures against inflationary push

The government must continue to be proactive in maintaining price stability and cushioning the impact of higher consumer prices on the poor following the uptick in inflation in March 2018, the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) said.


The country’s headline inflation reached 4.3 percent – breaching the government’s full-year inflation target of 2.0 to 4.0 percent. This is higher compared to the rates recorded in the previous month and during the same period last year.

​Bulacan airport, Davao Food Complex endorsed to the NEDA Board

Ramon S. Ang’s proposal to build an airport in Bulacan and the Davao Food Complex is now pending final approval by the board of the National Economic and Development Authority, chaired by President Duterte, after the Investment Coordinating Committee endorsed it.


The Bulacan Airport Project is worth P735.63 billion and involves an unsolicited proposal for the construction of a terminal, parallel runway and airport toll road to be able to accommodate 100 million passengers per annum by its opening in 2023.
