WHILE Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is on a rampage against those who are significantly contributing to the destruction of our environment, Malacañang is on a purge for non-functional -- if not totally inutile --  presidential commissions and task forces.

A lot of couples—married or not—express their love and other sentiments by texting or online messaging. No matter how far apart they are, they feel they are beside each other, especially if they use Skype or other visually-aided communication platform.

NEDA urges proactive measures against inflationary push

The government must continue to be proactive in maintaining price stability and cushioning the impact of higher consumer prices on the poor following the uptick in inflation in March 2018, the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) said.

 

The country’s headline inflation reached 4.3 percent – breaching the government’s full-year inflation target of 2.0 to 4.0 percent. This is higher compared to the rates recorded in the previous month and during the same period last year.

​Bulacan airport, Davao Food Complex endorsed to the NEDA Board

Ramon S. Ang’s proposal to build an airport in Bulacan and the Davao Food Complex is now pending final approval by the board of the National Economic and Development Authority, chaired by President Duterte, after the Investment Coordinating Committee endorsed it.

 

The Bulacan Airport Project is worth P735.63 billion and involves an unsolicited proposal for the construction of a terminal, parallel runway and airport toll road to be able to accommodate 100 million passengers per annum by its opening in 2023.

Unilab’s ‘Play It Forward’ program for Mayon children

Since the eruption of Mayon Volcano in January, which prompted the evacuation of 82,000 individuals (or 21,000 families), the Unilad Foundation provided children- evacuees a stress-coping program called “Play It Forward” to help them heal and recover from the trauma faster.

 

While food, water and shelter are essential, these are not enough, especially for children who are deprived of a fundamental right: the right to play.
