MPTC says road works on NLEX, SCTEX halted until after ASEAN

Road works and repairs along the North Luzon Expressway and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway will be suspended until after the ASEAN Summit.

Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. said the road expansions in Mabiga, Sta. Ines will have to be put off. MPTC President and Chief Executive Officer Rodrigo E. Franco said this, among others, were delayed because of the ASEAN activities in Clark, Pampanga.

Franco said road works on NLEX and SCTEX were shutdown since October 27 so as not to disrupt the All Saint’s Day weekend with the influx of passengers heading for the provinces.

We’re ‘Rescuing’, Not Hiding, Street Dwellers

By Mico Agustin

There is no special retreat, or hiding of street dwellers in preparation of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in November 13-17 in Metro Manila.

Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) now have a venue for their investments with higher interest rates while there will be either lower fees or for free for their remittances.
