One lab program to be showcased in DOST Region 9 expo

 

 

The ‘one lab’ program will be among those technologies and programs to be promoted during the celebration of the 2017 National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) Regional Invention Contest and Exhibit (RICE) tomorrow at the Palacio del Sur, Marcial Garden Hotel in Zamboanga City.

 

‘One lab’ facilitates customers, enterprises and industries access to specific DOST lab services anywhere in the country.

 

Another is the Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology-Upscaling for Progress (CEST-UP), an assistance program to the poorest communities in the country through S&T.

 

Other programs to be featured are ‘One Expert,’  an online “interactive nationwide pool of science and technology experts intended to provide technical advice and consultancy services to Filipinos anywhere in the Philippines;’ and the ‘One Store’ -  the first government e-commerce platform developed to promote and market local goods produced by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) assisted local entrepreneurs through its banner program, Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP).

 

The event is open to all interested individuals (S&T enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, students, researchers, inventors, innovators, professionals and the general public).

 

The above-mentioned programs are part of the “Technical Session on DOST’s Major Programs and Projects” to present the top programs and services of the DOST in 2017.

 

Among the DOST’s top technologies and services to be presented are the DOST’s flagship program, the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP), which encourages and assists Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to adopt technology innovations to improve their operations and thus boost their productivity and competitiveness.
