Visiting Taiwan is now visa-free

THE Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Philippines has announced that Filipinos who wish to visit Taiwan beginning November 1, 2017 can now go there without the need for a visa.

The visa free entry to Taiwan will last up to July 31, 2018, after which the office will review whether to continue the process or not.

Dr. Gary Song-Huann Lin, Taiwan Representative to the Philippines, expressed hope that the historical visa-free initiative would attract more Filipinos to visit Taiwan, noting such privilege to “build strong bilateral relations and a closer living economic community” between the Philippines and Taiwan.

“Through these efforts, we will surely enhance our bilateral tourism, economic, cultural, educational and other areas of cooperation and exchanges which will eventually bring closer cooperation between Manila and Taipei” he said.

Meanwhile, Passengers who enter Taiwan before Nov. 1 with valid Travel Authorization Certificate (TAC) may still continue to stay for up to 30 days. #
