Switzerland wants direct flights to PHL

WITH the lack of direct flights bridging Switzerland and the Philippines, the Swiss Embassy said there will be limited growth in two-way tourism between the two countries, which is absolutely true.

Deputy Head of Mission Raoul Imbach said despite their embassy noting a 20-percent increase in arrivals, the country remains a distant option for Swiss tourists.

Polish firm taps PHL for $2-million plant

CITING the growing infrastructure sector and its strategic location in the Asean region, Poland-based Pietrucha Group opted to choose the Philippines over neighbor Malaysia where it will open a $2-million production plant, marking its first green field investment in the country.

The plant would serve as a pilot project to manufacture vinyl sheet piling -- an advanced alternative to the traditional materials such as steel, concrete or wood.

ALL is not lost for displaced overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has vowed to assist them find new jobs.

British envoy foresees PHL 10% GDP growth

DESPITE concerns by some foreign investors on President Rodrigo Duterte’s reputation for unpredictability, a European envoy is confident the country could register 10-percent growth this year.

EU envoy lauds Duterte’s enthusiasm

EUROPEAN Union (EU) Ambassador Franz Jessen has lauded President Rodrigo Duterte administration for his enthusiasm and tireless efforts to bring about concrete and sustainable changes in the country as he looks for deeper cooperation between EU and the Philippines.

“One area that looks particularly promising for deeper cooperation is for the EU to assist in the implementation of a possible peace agreement between the government and the various groups in Mindanao,” he said.
