Isabel Granada Still In Critical Condition

Isabel Granada: To plug out or not life support

Now more than ever is the time to intensify Mommy Guapa, Isabel Villarama in real life, and daughter Isabel Granada bond after a long period of misunderstanding due to some personal matters.

Mommy Guapa flew to Doha, Qatar immediately after Isabel collapsed, was rushed to the Heart Hospital Hamad Medical Corporation and was pronounced in coma by medical authorities. The actress was in Doha to attend an event of the Philippine government with her husband, young businessman Arnel Cowley.

She suffered from a brain hemorrhage, said Arnel, after she fainted in a fan meet-and-greet event. It indicated, according to him, an aneurysm, a massive internal bleeding in the brain.

Meanwhile, a nurse in the hospital disclosed, posted on Facebook by fellow actress and buddy Bianca Lapus, that Isabel had six massive cardiac arrests.

Although many people in the biz, friends and fans alike, are praying for her speedy recovery and saying she’s in a stable but critical condition, Isabel is under a life support.

As of this writing, Mommy Guapa was advised with Cowley to decide on what to do next — to pull out or not the life support.

Together forever

Mommy Guapa and Isa have been together since day one. The mom painstakingly takes care of her only child with her seaman hubby, pure Spanish Humberto Granada. Guapa has been a doting ma to her (we are witness to this since they were living in an apartment somewhere in Murphy, Cubao until they moved in a beautiful house in Rizal Province) until some differences sat in especially on the dotter’s love affairs.

On her way to Doha, Mommy Guapa shed tears endlessly for her dear Isabel.

Killing Isabel In Soc Med

Friends and colleagues of Sabel are still hurting about the unfounded FB posts of heinous netizens declaring her dead. Her bosom friend, former actor and now show producer Robby Tarroza, has been requesting posters to refrain from “fake news” mode.

Actress Vivian Velez was alarmed she didn’t check her facts carelessly she posted on her social media a “dead Isabel” but quickly deleted her post after verification.

Roger Calvin and Divina Valencia: On a comeback trail

Where Are They Now?

Remember screen sex goddess Divina Valencia and teen idol Roger Calvin of the pre-Martial Law years?

Divina, known for her long tresses covering her left eye and being a leading lady to macho action stars (Bernard Belleza and Jess Lapid, who were violently killed in real life), has been a staple name in the biz when she decided to migrate to the US in the late 80s.

She married an enterprising Fil-Am businessman Delfin Quesada. They put up a bakeshop business in America specializing in pandesal which was very successful until Quesada died.

Feeling lonely, she returned to the Philippines on a showbiz comeback trail, and got meaty roles in local TV dramas. But then again, she has to go back to the US to pay her loved ones a visit.

Now, she’s home again and busies herself reuniting with fellow stars of the 50s, 60s and 70s in a company called “Balik-Samahan” with Barbara Perez, Susan Roces, Cardidad Sanchez, Nova Villa, Gloria Romero, Liberty Ilagan, Pepito Rodriguez, etc.

Divina is now a freelancer and is ready to face the cameras anew.

Meanwhile, Roger Calvin, Divina’s leading man Lea Productions’ in “Kwatang: A Star is Born,” is also back in town to try acting again.

Roger, the teen idol — Christopher de Leon of the 70s, Aga Muhlach of the 80s, Piolo Pascual of the 90s, and John Lloyd Cruz and Joshua Garcia of the millennium — of the 60s is now retired from his ad work in the US.

He is a widower whose wife, a medical doctor, died many years ago.

They are blessed with one child, the loquacious Cher Calvin, a multi-awarded broadcast journalist and a primetime newscaster at KTLA5. Cher has six Emmys to her name.

Roger is truly very proud of her. #
