Mark Anthony Fernandez: One year after in jail

“No visitors allowed” at the Pampanga Provincial Jail in the City of San Fernando for its star inmate Mark Anthony Fernandez who was nabbed a year and two weeks ago for possession of one kilo of marijuana in Angeles City.

No visitors for Mark Anthony if no permission from his family, especially from his mom Alma Moreno, is secured and granted. This we learned when we went to the provincial jail early last week to pay him a visit.

Mark has been like a young brother to me if not a surrogate son so we wanted to see and talk to him. As a little boy, he grew up with us movie writers like Nene Riego (Alma’s manager at that time), Lhar Santiago, Obette Serrano and Roland Lerum when we were running around with the actress during her heyday.

Mark Herras and gf Wynwyn Marquez visit Mark

We didn’t waste our time going home empty-handed. Instead of waiting for nothing we interviewed the jail guards. One of them said that a lot of Mark Anthony’s friends in the biz like Mark Herras and half-siblings Wynwyn Marquez and Vandolph have paid their “kuya” a visit.

They would bring food to Mark and the moments were mostly fun if not emotional visits.

The frequent visitor is Alma who has already rented a house in Pampanga for easier mobility to attend to her son’s needs.

According to the guard, Ness is supposed to come this week for her regular call.

As to Mark Anthony’s situation, the guard revealed the actor is fine and sociable with fellow inmates. It isn’t the same when the actor was reportedly attempted to commit suicide.

Mark Anthony’s car still impounded

Meanwhile, the yellow Mustang car with plate number ZGE 667, the vehicle Mark Anthony was driving when he was nabbed by authorities in Station 6 of Angeles City is still impounded at the parking space of the police precinct until the court decides its pullout.

According to the officers on duty, nobody could touch the car until the court says so.

Aljur Abrenica still practices ikepono

Aljur Abrenica never rests on his small laurels yet.

After being signed up and groomed by ABS-CBN as a major star since he left GMA Network in the recent past, Aljur has been regularly seen in the top-rater action caper on TV, “Ang Probinsiyano” and other Channel 2 shows. His appearance in the Coco Martin starrer is no peanuts. Although he has to muster a lot of ingenuity to improve his craft, his presence is always felt.  That’s quite a feat, indeed.

Critics are wont to say Aljur is a ham actor or perhaps his smiling eyes are distractions but he is a fast learner which his closest of friends affirm like his life coaches couple Benjie and Gloria Cuaresma. He takes criticisms in stride and unlearns mistakes.

Bundle of joy as well for Kylie

What is his mastery of ikepono for? For ikepono is a new Oriental philosophy, a Japanese concept of self-discovery, enlightenment and self-empowerment toward a search for inner peace and happiness.

Despite Aljur’s happy family, he still consults with Benjie and Gloria about important matters in life, professional and otherwise.

Not to be outdone by his career achievements this early is his being an excited new dad to three-month old baby boy, Alas Joaquin, an angel and a bundle of joy sent to him and sweetheart Kylie Padilla.

Lucky charm is Alas Joaquin whom Aljur always sings to sleep because he believes that music creates geniuses in toddlers (like what Nikki Junia’s Musik Garten espouses) and it makes life more wonderful.
