Legarda: Ratifying Paris accord beneficial for PH


SPEAKING before the Climate Change Forum-High-Level Climate Policy Forum in the Senate recently, Senator Loren Legarda renews call for urgent climate action.

She pointed out the country does not stand a chance against the catastrophic effect of global warming that has already breached the 1°C level with unprecedented warming in the past months.

“We have already borne countless tragedies and losses from recurring impacts of extreme weather events under a 1°C global warming. How much more with higher temperatures?” Legarda asked.

AFTER training his guns on big time operators of fish pens and cages in Laguna Lake, President Duterte has tasked the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) to restore the body of water to its original pristine condition.

The LLDA wasted no time as efforts are now being undertaken to rehabilitate the country’s largest lake at 949 square kilometers but oddly the shallowest at an average of merely 2.8 meters in depth.
