May 133 na mga maybahay ang nagtapos noong Abril 29 sa two-month urban farming training na inarrange ng Department of Social Welfare and Development, SM Foundation Inc., Taguig City government, MacPlus Academy sa 250 square meter na barangay property sa Barangay Ususan, Taguig.

Ang mga nagtapos ay mga benepisyaryo ng 4Ps o Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Project ng DSWD at karamihan sa kanilay matuturing informal settlers sa mga barangay sa Taguig.

Legarda pushes for green climate dialogue

THERE is a strong need to ensure that the Philippines prioritizes the right climate change mitigation programs and involves private sector and non-profit organizations, according to Senator Loren Legarda.

This is the reason Legarda has decided to convene a Green Climate Fund Dialogue that would gather government agencies and private organizations to discuss what programs they should pursue to ensure that the Philippines adapts to the effects of climate change.

Yolanda victims call for freedom from fossil fuels

This was the message of Leyte residents as they converged at the iconic San Juanico Bridge recently where they unfurled a giant banner bearing the words “#BreakFree from fossil fuels”.

The unfurling of the banner was part of the week-long activity in the Leyte leg of Break Free 2017 as a team of cyclists and a team of rowers watched below.

Climate watchdogs want use of coal stopped

BE an example and drop the Philippines’ reliance on coal.

This was the dare of the Philippine Movement for Climate Justice (PMCJ) and other groups to President Rodrigo Duterte as they urged him to observe provisions indicated at the recently-signed Paris Agreement.

The environmental groups wanted President Duterte to stay true to the agreement by eliminating the Philippines’ dependence on coal as an energy source.
