Buffett’s Berkshire is Moving on Tech

LIKE many people, I like Warren. I love his stodgy, old-fashioned ways, “If you don't feel comfortable owning something for 10 years, then don't own it for 10 minutes.”

For many years Warren avoided the tech companies. After the DotCom crash of 2000 to 2002, when the Nasdaq Composite lost 78%, he seemed like the sage everyone said he was.

He did not pick up value style companies in the e-commerce space. Even in that tech implosion event he went after the classic tech players such as GE and IBM.

Exports drop for 15th straight month

ECONOMIC planners have raised alarm bells as the drop in merchandise exports fell 11.4 percent in June – the 15th consecutive months that it happened mainly due to the persistent weak demand from major markets.

National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) citing reports from Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) data, said total export receipts fell to US $4.8 billion last June from US $5.4 billion in the same month last year due to lower sales in the nine major commodities out of the top ten export commodities for the month.
