ANOTHER BIG BLOW

THE PUNCHES just keep on coming.

Vice President Jejomar Binay suffered yet another blow in his quest to win the presidency in next year’s national elections after the Makati Business Club rated his office as the worst-performing government agency among all 64 government offices assessed in a recent survey.

The ranking of the OVP took a steep plunge during the 2nd Semester 2015 MBC Executive Outlook Survey, in which it skidded 31 notches from last year’s poll to rank last among all government agencies after earning the lowest net satisfaction rating of -76.3.

EASING THE TENSION

ONE GOOD thing that came out of the 48th ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting in Malaysia was the report by China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi that his country’s land reclamation projects at the contested areas in the West Philippine Sea had stopped.

It was a positive development in as much as the said activities are causing tensions not only among the claimant countries that include the Philippines but also on other nations especially United States and Japan that are both criticizing China for militarizing the disputed waters.
