John Estrada watches premiere film showing of an assassinated Batangas Mayor

John Estrada recently went to Lipa City in Batangas to attend a premiere film showing of an assassinated mayor from Batangas.

Why waste time going to SM Lipa for that film? Estrada believes that distance is immaterial for an actor to endure in his career.

The film entitled “The Last Interview: the Mayor Halili Story” is his top bill.

Estrada travelled all the way from Manila to join the cast and creative team of the project.

“I believe in the project and I must say I am one with the search for the truth about what happened,” Estrada said in an exclusive interview at the Cabalen Restaurant in SM Lipa.

Estrada, who plays onscreen the late Mayor Antonio Halili of Tanauan, Batangas, added that he was inspired to take the role of the politician who was gunned to death during the flag ceremony in the city hall of his town last July 2, 2018.

He said the movie isn’t just a biopic but a feature narrative of a very interesting person during his lifetime. “This is just to present what transpired in the life of Mayor Halili,” the actor opined.

Estrada said he enjoyed driving from Manila to Lipa City to join his fans and colleagues during the premiere showing of the film. “Bale, pasyal na rin ito (This is like strolling around),” he smiled.

“The Last Interview: The Mayor Antonio ‘Parada’ Halili Story” is directed by television broadcaster Ceasar Soriano from the screenplay of Abet Pagdagdagan Raz.
