Pop idol Archie D. now pushes for world peace in his music

By Boy Villasanta

The threat of nuclear war last year by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un which scared the world, if not angered it, pushed pop singer Archie D, the original singer and composer of the current hit “Mahal na Mahal” to work hard on music advocating strongly for world peace.

He has left Sam Concepcion, teen idol, to enjoy the fame in reviving his composition.

Incidentally, Sam’s cut has already made 36 million Youtube likes and still growing in views.

Archie, who is currently in the Philippines, is happy for Concepcion’s reliving his signature song and reaping countless shares in social media.

“I am happy for Sam. I don’t mind being dislodged in the audience’s preference. I am already done. It’s Sam’s time and I support him,” Archie said in an exclusive phone interview Monday morning.

Archie, Archie Dairocas in real life, migrated to the US in the early 90s during his prime as an Original Pilipino Music proponent.

“In exchange for fame, I went to the US to concentrate on my raising a family. No regrets whatsoever,” he confirmed.

Being an artist, his vision of love and compassion has always been his primary goal in music.

So that when the real threat of a nuclear annihilation hangs like a sword of Damocles, Archie wants to spread peace and understanding among men regardless of creed, race, gender and social station.

“I remember it was last year when Kim Jong-un launched a missile test in Japan that had a very chilling effect throughout the world,” he exclaimed.

That started Archie’s advocacy of world peace through music.

His creative juices were really oozing so he soon composed “Sing One Song to the World” and went around bringing the song to campaign for unity against nuclear holocaust.

“I have started it in the US,” revealed Archie who launched his promotion of world peace in New York.

He’s now touring Asia, initially the Philippines, to campaign for the song and the CD. He is currently shooting an MTV about the music with cameraman and video editor Cloyd Winstanley to stress the meaning of the music.

Does he have an organization to support his cause?

“No. I am just alone in this fight and surprisingly, interests among peoples from all walks of life in the Philippines are positively shoring up the advocacy. People from Tondo and other impoverished places in the country are supporting my song,” he chuckled.

Even the Trump administration, he qualified, has no hand on this.

“This is an independent movement,” he said.

Where does he get his funds to sustain his program?

“I spend for this all by myself. But I am happy doing this. This is a mission,” Archie quipped.
