A lot of marriages in showbiz in 2018

By Boy Villasanta

Famous celebrity psychic Madam Suzette Arandela stated recently that the local entertainment industry in the Year of the Earth Dog would be an interesting and successful enterprise. “Magiging maganda ang takbo ng local entertainment industry (It will be a good year),” Madam Suzette predicted.

“Drama, comedy, fantasy and romance will be the genres mostly patronized by the public,” added Arandela.

Local action films, according to her, will still be in the cellar dweller. “Mas tatangkilikin ng mga tao ang mga action movies from Hollywood (Sadly, the Filipino movie going public will still stick to action movies from Hollywood),” Madam Suzette forebode.

Would this be the fate of such action films in the pipeline of such big companies as Viva Entertainment, Regal Films and other production outfits which have action capers in their line-up?

Observers, therefore, were taking notes if the Arandela prophecy would come true?

“Let us see what happens,” a bitchy writer posed. “Let’s see if Madam Suzette’s words will matter,” the entertainment writer who requested anonymity said.

Madam Suzette said there would be avalanche of awards to be won in drama, comedy, fantasy and romance films.

“Ganyan ang mangyayari sa mga awards night (Those are the types of films which would win),” she exclaimed.

In the local television world, the supremacy of news and public affairs would be the in thing in 2018. “Maghi-hit ang mga news and current affairs shows, ang mga reality shows, soap operas and talk shows,” Arandela forecasted.

“The ratings of these programs will continue to soar,” she foresaw.

On the personal lives of movie and television stars, Madam Suzette said “there will be a lot of showbiz marriages this year. They will come as surprises.”

As usual, the top three TV networks, namely ABS-CBN, GMA Network and TV5 would still be the stations to reckon with in the Year of the Earth Dog. “Sila pa rin (They’re still the ones),” she disclosed.

Meanwhile, the lady psychic underscored the noontime show of Tito, Vic and Joey would still be on top of the heap. “’Eat Bulaga’ pa rin ang mangunguna sa mga noontime show natin sa TV (‘Eat Bulaga’ will still be the number one among noontime shows),” Arandela, who has been in the fortune telling industry for almost four decades, foretold.

Madam Suzette runs a daily advice column in Arriba tabloid.
