Wendell Ramos weds longtime beau

By Boy Villasanta

Straight from the fiesta of the eve of Our Lady of Loreto’s parish fiesta in Sampaloc, Manila where Wendell Ramos spent most of his youth, the actor made second matrimonial vows when he tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Kai Guevarra Saturday afternoon at the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Parañaque City.

Wendell and Kai finally decided to make official their bond when they were already certain about their stability as persons in love, according to most of their friends and associates.

Among the sponsors in the nuptials was godfather Joey Marquez who was always with Wendell when they were still under the management of the late starbuilder Douglas Quijano. Joey has been Ramos’ friend-adviser in most of the younger actor’s career and personal concerns.

Fashion designer Paul Cabral was also among the sponsors. Wendell thanked Paul for being with him most of his acting career as a fashion consultant.

Fellow actor Joross Gamboa stood as one of the groomsmen in the wedding of his bosom buddy. Ramos, a former GMA Network contract artist is now signed with ABS-CBN, took time to invite his BFFs from Channel 7 to the private affair like Antonio Aquitania, Gabby Eigenmann and Dingdong Dantes.

Days before the wedding, Wendell and Kai went to the office of the church and the satellite agencies of the Department of Health and the Department of Social Welfare and Development for the obligatory rounds of family orientation and planning. This didn’t exempt showbiz people from these seminars.

Ramos and Guevarra even took examinations on the matters which they passed with flying colors.

Wendell got married to his second girlfriend but it was annulled after a few years of a relationship. They have a child.

On his first girlfriend, Ramos bore her a son who is now a young man who looks like his dad.

Kai being Wendell’s third love, the actor has already a toddler with her, according to entertainment reporter Alex Datu.

Ramos grew up in the thickly- populated Sampaloc district where talent scout Regie Picayo saw and initially nurtured him as a newbie. Eventually, Wendell moved in to Quijano’s stable of stars after Regie.

To Wendell and Kai, our best wishes.
